WINTAC is a national training and technical assistance (TA) center that provides training and technical assistance (TA) to State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRAs) and related agencies and rehabilitation professionals and service providers to help them develop the skills and processes needed to meet the requirements of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The WINTAC provides technical assistance in five major topic areas: 1) Effective implementation of pre-employment transition services, 2) Implementation of the requirements of Section 511 of WIOA, 3) Provision of resources and strategies to help individuals with disabilities achieve competitive integrated employment, including customized and supported employment, 4) Integration of VR into the Workforce Development System, and 5) Transition to the common performance measures. NDI and WINTAC partners provide multi-leveled TA to meet the Center’s goals. Universal TA that is primarily self-directed by the user and includes accessing information and resources from www.WINTAC.org. Targeted, specialized TA that includes one-time, labor-intensive events or TA based on needs common to multiple recipients and not extensively individualized. Intensive, sustained TA that is often on-site and includes a stable ongoing relationship between the WINTAC and the recipients. Intensive TA includes a series of activities designed to reach a valued outcome and should result in changes in policy, program, practice or operations that support increased capacity and/or outcomes for consumers.
