Created by JAN (Job Accommodation Network), a national resource invested in increasing the employment of individuals with disabilities, this 27-minute training module provides technical assistance on how to increase your comfort, confidence, and competence through disability awareness.
This toolkit, from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, helps both employers and employees understand the return-to-work process and provides resources to assist in getting employees back on the job quickly and smoothly.
To assist people with disabilities in, securing and maintaining employment, the Federal Government and States have developed incentives, both credits and deductions, for employers who make their place of business more accessible to employees as well as patrons with disabilities. Learn more about available employer financial incentives related to wages or access by visiting the EARN website. To discuss or request more information, please email info@AmercianDreamEN.org.
If you have a question about workplace accommodations, disclosing your disability or the ADA: visit the Job Accommodation Network. This free public resource is where you can learn about how to make a request, when to disclose a disability, and accommodation ideas. A new product, the Mobile Accommodation Solution app, is available in the app store in iOS version. This app helps workplace accommodation requests throughout the employment lifecycle. Employers can track the status of requests, access fillable forms, and store, print, and export records into enterprise information systems.
For federal contractors who have questions about compliance to Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act: visit the Office of Contractor Compliance Programs in the U.S. Department of Labor.
