How to get your Economic Impact Payment (Stimulus Payment):

Information for those with a Representative Payee (RP):
- $600 Additional Unemployment Compensation Ending: July 31
The extra unemployment insurance benefit offered by the federal government, which adds an additional $600 per week to unemployment payments, will end on July 31, 2020. Beginning in August, those who file for unemployment will receive their state’s typical payment amount. However, Americans are still covered by other expanded unemployment provisions in the CARES Act. Learn more.
- Federal Tax Filing Deadline: July 15
The federal tax extension deadline is approaching. All federal tax returns are due by July 15, 2020. Those who need more time to file their taxes can request an extension to file, which gives taxpayers until October 15 to file their taxes. An important note: an extension to file is not an extension to pay; taxes must be paid by July 15. Learn more about tax deadlines.
- Student Loan Payments: September 30
The CARES Act provides broad relief for federal student loan borrowers. Federal student loan payments held by the Department of Education are currently suspended, but this payment suspension will only last until September 30, 2020. Learn more about student loan relief.
- Evictions and Foreclosures:
Depending on where you live, moratoriums on evictions and foreclosures may be coming to an end. The CARES Act provides certain protections for most tenants in federally-subsidized or federally-backed housing.
