Financial Literacy Videos in ASL
The Basics of Financial Literacy
A new series of accessible financial literacy videos has been created through a partnership between the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center (Clerc Center) at Gallaudet University, the Washington Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth (CDHY), and Junior Achievement (JA). The videos are available at no cost to students, families, and educators throughout the United States.
Financial Assistance for Hearing Devices
If you need a loan to purchase a hearing device, please contact an Alternative Finance Program. Interest rates for a loan range from 0% to 8% and this may be a credit building opportunity for those who do not have a credit history. There is no income limit to apply.
Five Things to Know About ABLE savings / investment accounts; up to $100,000 is not a countable resource for SSI. ABLE disbursements are not countable income when spent on qualified disability expenses. Any amount of ABLE funds are not a countable resource for FAFSA, HUD, SNAP, SSDI, Medicaid or Medicare.
