National Disability Institute Celebrates 20 Years of Impact
Washington, D.C. — September 2025 — National Disability Institute (NDI) proudly marks its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of driving financial empowerment and inclusion for people with disabilities and their families. Since its founding in 2005, NDI has been a catalyst for economic advancement, leading national efforts to shape policy, expand education, and increase access to financial resources.
“For 20 years, we have worked alongside partners, funders, policymakers, and people with disabilities to expand opportunities and remove barriers,” said Tom Foley, Executive Director of NDI. “Our work is good for people with disabilities, it’s good for industry, and it’s good for the American economy. And, we’re just getting started!”
Key Achievements Over 20 Years
- $2.6 billion saved in ABLE accounts by more than 213,000 people with disabilities nationwide
