Biography
Nancy Boutot is Manager of Financial Empowerment at National Disability Institute (NDI). Nancy provides training and technical assistance across the country on Social Security work incentives, benefits planning and employment work supports, and other asset development strategies to empower individuals and communities in maximizing financial stability and independence. Nancy is the lead trainer of NDI’s Disability Inclusive Financial Counseling Initiative. This initiative aims to promote financial equity for individuals with disabilities by training financial counselors to be more inclusive of disability in their services. Nancy also serves as the LEAD Center’s subject matter expert on financial empowerment.
Prior to joining NDI, she spent eight years with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida and 14 years directing nonprofit community-based employment programs in Florida and New Jersey. Nancy holds a master’s degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and has over 25 years of program development, technical assistance, training and leadership experience in the nonprofit field. She is a certified Community Partner Work Incentives Coordinator (CPWIC) through Virginia Commonwealth University’s National Training Center and a Certified Financial Counselor through the National Association of Certified Credit Counselors. In her free time, Nancy enjoys traveling extensively through the United States and Europe and spending time with family, including her three grandchildren.
