We wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
It has been a challenging year, and we want to thank you for your continued support of NDI and our mission of creating a better financial future for people with disabilities and their families.
This year marked both the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the 15th anniversary of NDI. Now more than ever, we rely on our values of collaboration and innovation to move our mission forward.
This Spring, NDI launched the Financial Resilience Center (FRC) to provide resources that help those with disabilities and chronic health conditions navigate financially through the COVID-19 crisis. This assistance includes opportunities for free financial counseling and developing a personalized financial wellness plan.
In the Summer, NDI released a new podcast series, The Keys to Financial Inclusion, which highlights different ways that financial institutions and communities can respond to the needs of low- and moderate-income (LMI) populations. We also launched #ResilientPwD, a text message campaign designed to reduce stress and promote financial resilience among people with disabilities.
This Fall, we announced our new Inclusive Community Development Awards, recognizing other organizations that have created unique initiatives to support people with disabilities in LMI communities.
Now, as we prepare for 2021, we are excited to welcome Tom Foley as NDI’s new executive director. We look forward to the social impact that we can achieve together in the years to come.
NDI will be closed starting on December 25, 2020 and will resume business on January 4, 2021.
